Memorial Day is May 25th

Memorial Day is a U.S. holiday that honors and remembers those who died while serving in the military.  The roots of the Memorial Day observance goes back to 1865 and the end of the Civil War.   It was known as Decoration Day until 1882 and then it was changed to Memorial Day.  The holiday was traditionally held on the 30th of May.   In 1971, Congress declared it a national holiday and changed it to the last Monday in May.  It is customary to fly the U.S. flag at half staff on this day.  It also marks the unofficial start to the summer season

In today's Use Your Imagination, write about what you can do to honor this day.
