Have you ever wanted to help out an organization but didn’t know how? Well, now you can! If you go online and look up Ivory Ella, an organization that sells shirts, shorts, sweatshirts, water bottles and even jewelry, you can do just that! The website was created by five people who had a passion for helping others. They did some research and realized that they wanted to help out elephants that are in danger of getting their ivory tusks taken away from them. 10% of all profits donated go to saving elephants and other organizations including cancer research and treatments.
Their most recent project is helping out the whales in New Zealand that are in a serious situation. In mid February, a little more than 650 whales were stranded on a beach in New Zealand. Ivory Ella noticed that they needed help, so the company quickly went to the drawing board and drew up a design for a new shirt. The shirt has the normal elephant that all of their other shirts have on them, but they added a whale that is sitting by the elephant on the back of the shirt. They came to the conclusion that 10% of the profits made from the new shirt would go to New Zealand to help out the whales! It would have been so easy for the company to just dismiss this whole idea and never even make Ivory Ella but because they did; about $855,373 has been raised to help elephants. With the other organizations they help out about $130,565 has gone to cancer research and treatments and around $195,328 has gone to several other places that need donations! This is such an amazing way to donate money to organizations while buying something cute/stylish as well! In the end it’s amazing that a few people realized that the world needed some help, so they created a unique company to give back to the community.
