Candy Canes for a Cause

The Herbison Woods Elementary School student government hosted a fundraiser, Candy Canes for a Cause, to raise money to donate to Potter Park Zoo to help support the BIG Zoo Lessons. Candy canes could be purchased and delivered to students and staff, along with a note from the sender. The student government raised $1,000 to donate to Potter Park Zoo from the candy cane sales.

Emily O'Rourke and Dr. George Berghorn from Potter Park Zoo were at Herbison Woods Elementary in December to receive the donation and thank the students. The funds donated will "give Potter Park Zoo resources needed to enhance our programming and enrich the zoo experience for all guests".
