It's Monday, January 28, 2019....and most schools are closed due to the snowstorm!

If you're home because of a snow day, hooray! But that doesn't mean you have to stay inside all day and miss out on outdoor fun. Now is a great time to get outside and enjoy all the different winter activities!

From skiing and snowboarding, to sledding, hiking and building snowmen, winter offers lots of fun for everyone!

No matter which winter sport you choose, staying warm is important. The right clothing and equipment will help you to enjoy yourself a whole lot more. Some of the newer fabrics for cold weather give you the warmth of layers without all the bulk. Did you know that staying warm isn’t just about feeling comfortable? Your body needs to stay warm to work properly. When your body is at the right temperature, it won’t need to spend as much energy. If you’re dressed properly, it also means you can stay outside longer without worrying about frostbite. Ask an adult if you’re not sure what to wear outside to protect yourself from the weather elements.
