Where's the Wind Going?

All scientists have one thing in common: they study the aspects of the world. To help our students learn about the natural world, our 5th graders started their year in science learning about what scientists do and how they collect and interpret data, the methods and models they use to perform investigations, and how they support their conclusions.

Where’s the Wind Going? was our 5th grade science class’s first STEM activity for the year! In this activity students enjoyed being meteorologists; they were able to design, build, test and modify a wind vane and use it to determine wind direction changes in our area. Students proposed and tested a solution to a problem and were able to evaluate the effectiveness of their design solution. Overall, students enjoyed their time being meteorologists!

Great job 5th graders!
