Fowlerville Junior High Honors Mrs. Bonnie Roddenberg
Fowlerville Junior High's 7th and 8th Grade Volleyball teams, along with Mrs. Judy Recker and National Junior High School Honor Society, participated in a "Pink-Out" Volleyball game in Honor of Mrs. Bonnie Roddenberg on October 19th. Mrs. Roddenberg is currently fighting stage 4 cancer and has been a Fowlerville school employee for the past 25 years. She has been dealt a heavy blow over the past year: losing her son to a tragic car accident and then being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. This means she has been unable to work this school year. The students participated in games with Owosso 7th and 8th grade, bake sale and a silent auction to raise money for Mrs. Roddenberg. The participation was unbelievable!
Fowlerville Junior High Staff purchased shirts in honor of Mrs. Roddenberg and local businesses donated gift certificates and gifts for a silent auction. Owosso Schools set out to raise money as well. Karen, the Owosso coach presented family members from Mrs. Roddenberg's family a money donation.
It was an incredible night and a big thank you to Mrs. Recker for organizing. A big thank you to Ms. Thomas, 7th grade coach and Mrs. Dufore, 8th grade coach for all of their hard work as well. Together, over $1000.00 was raised .
