"Millions of American children get to fourth grade without learning to read proficiently, and that puts them on the high school dropout track. The ability to read is critical to a child’s success in school, life-long earning potential and their ability to contribute to the nation’s economy and its security."

Who We Are
Kids' World News is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization devoted to promoting and improving early childhood reading and learning. We believe passionately that reading is essential to children's growth and success. Reading plays a critical role in shaping early mental development and forging the foundations for lifelong learning and positive behavior. Our vision is for every child to be a proficient reader by the end of 3rd grade.
Every day teachers do a heroic job educating future generations and helping kids achieve reading proficiency. Kids' World News exists to compliment those efforts by providing interactive workbooks directly to local elementary schools that are colorful, fun and of educational value to students and teachers. Our workbooks are completely FREE and contain engaging articles and hands-on activities for kids intended to be completed in the classroom and at home. Every month we distribute more than 100,000 free copies of Kids' World News to more than 300 elementary schools, YMCAs and public libraries in 12 counties across Michigan.
What We Do
How We're Different
Early childhood reading is critical. Teachers are key. That’s why Kids’ World News is designed specifically for elementary-age children and distributed directly to classrooms in local elementary schools. Unlike coupon books and advertising circulars, we are an educational workbook which teachers can utilize in the classroom as a fun and engaging supplement to existing curriculum. Kids' World News is made possible through support from our community partners who sponsor specific pages for publication in their local edition. All of our expenses directly support the publication and distribution of free interactive workbooks for elementary students.
